The EPIM-community is really great and they test and help to make EPIM better and better.
Max, for the users it would be nice if they see some comment from the EPIM-team.

So far there is not much to comment. As you can see, there are at least 3 modules with majority of votes. Let's see who wins)

Re: What would you like to see as next module?
Hi, I would like to add a new, sixth item to that voting. A fully customizable database module (with customized fields). Someone could organize his CD collection, someone else the list of his customers... etc. I mean the same as already present in ToDo module - but fully independent (separated from ToDos)
Even the name of that module could be customized (by default something like "My database")
I hope this is not too difficult to introduce and I think it would significantly increase the value of EPIM.
I have suggested that before, please see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11071&p=47849#p47849

I've been doing similar in the Passwords Module which I don't really see a point of otherwise as i store all of my passwords in Notes.petrsimanek wrote:Hi, I would like to add a new, sixth item to that voting. Re: What would you like to see as next module?
I judge each new feature mainly by one criteria; "Can I find a satisfactory workaround to this feature either within EPIM OR outside of EPIM"?
1. Tagging system: EPIM is working heavily towards improving the email module and on synchronisation and I recognise that having a good email module may strongly draw Outlook users to EPIM and synchronisation is a must these days and in line with other softwares like MS onenote, evernote and others, BUT for me a Tagging system integrating with categorisation, hyperlinking and the search facility we currently have, moves EPIM into the kind of sorting and retrieval territory of dedicated notes programmes especially myinfo, rightnote, whizfolders, Zoot, Ultra Recall, mybase and Cintanotes. There are other features in the aforementioned programmes, some would be excellent in EPIM like being able to work in multiple windows at the same time (therefore not having to open separate EPIM databases simultaneously) and others like 'hoist' which makes visible one file and it's child folders to work on it exclusively and make invisible other folders at that time BUT my workaround for hoist is to put folders that are more urgent and/or more important and/or more frequently used in a separate tree in Notes to see and use them more quickly! Tags is NOT a plug in or a module but rather an integral part of a notes programme and there isn't a workaround for this save moving to another notes programme, which I do not want to do as I enjoy the Calendar, To Do and Contacts Modules alongside IMO the MOST IMPORTANT Module - Notes.
2. mind mapping module: This idea exists in specific software and implementing it in an all round PIM software like EPIM may hog the development teams efforts for some time and make this software bloated.
Workaround - Obtain specific software for mind mapping if your need for this is so great!
3. spreadsheet module or better insert a calculated table in notes: I like this one a lot, it doesn't need to be done in a large scale way, I personally favour the calculated table in notes rather than the new dedicated module
Workaround - A dedicated programme, BUT if you were to get something to do the job for spreadsheets you might just as well purchase a suite of products like Microsoft Office or Open Office to not only handle spreadsheets but your other needs too; though one of the purposes of EPIM is to take the place of a suite of programmes but in a more lightweight way and in one interface; therefore whilst there is a workaround it isn't one that is satisfactory to my requirements.
4. Journal/Diary: barring a few fancier functions you might find in a dedicated diary software, Workaround - a separate tree in the Notes Module suffices for me.
5. Project Module: I'd like to know more about this, but currently Workaround - I use a tree in Notes for Projects/Tasks/Goals called ACTION and combine this with links to files in Notes that I am working on projects for and use ToDo and Calendar Modules for the extra functionality they have.
6. Fully customizable database: Looks good although currently I have varying directories and inventories in Notes and TAGGING would make sorting and more specific retrieval better. The quality of FIELDS is great for To Do's and Contacts, though personally I think it is unnecessary for passwords; I keep Passwords in Notes. (so I use this Module for sorting films and TV Series). I can certainly use Fields for some directories and inventories in Notes and would actually see a benefit in the ability to create MULTIPLE bespoke modules.
Therefore although our votes have been tallied as one equal vote for each feature we have expressed a liking for I'd like to be more specific and say the following:
1. Tagging system = 3 points
3. spreadsheet module or better insert a calculated table in notes = 2 points
6. fully customizable database module (with customized fields) = 1 point
The other ideas = 0 points
SO in the absence of making 3 choices in a descending 3, 2, 1 points way please remove my vote for Mind mapping and add a vote for fully customizable database module (with customized fields).

ypim, I did some searching to find names of users in addition to the ones you have posted and would appreciate if you could collate them into the voting?ypim wrote:done - and very nice food for thought.hannibal_barca_1974 wrote: ...

"My vote for PROJECT...very interesting", it was then followed by 4 posts, 3 from ypim and 1 from Max

He then wrote the same post identically here >>>
