New Modules Idea
Hi, what I miss more in EPIM are those 2 points:
a small accounting/ ledger/ financial module
and a Multimedia/ Document manager module.
The accounting module is nothing more than the "To Do list" with a "value" field and an initial value, where each entry would add or minus the initial value
no need to calculate pro-rata or mortages , a simple balance sheet would be nice.
The freeware version could have a single account whereas the PRO could have more ...
The Multimedia manager would be something like the "Notes" module + "to Do list" where the idea would be to read a directory with ( docs, image, audio ) and for each "file" display its parameters ...
In the JPEG could read the EXIF info with other docs a small note ...
A small thumbnail coulded be "made" but not needed to be inserted in the Database as a "BLOB" , most of the time the path and info would be enough ..
For instance if a file a were deleted or missing from the initial directory scan a small icon should be shown as a warning ...
Both in each of those modules the hability to link with a "To DO List" or a Calendar item would be a plus ..
THanks in advance for the best PIM program...

Re: New Modules Idea
Hello,
the version we are working on will contain both of your suggestions actually, I think:
- To Do module will contain custom fields (Pro version) which you can add and change
-There will be attachment manager, which will display files from all EPIM items.

Re: New Modules Idea
Attachments Module sounds like a great idea.
Really liking the idea of a Ledger/Accounting module.
For me, an Accounting module ( & Diary Module
) is the missing app
Oh yea, & Tags

Re: New Modules Idea
And what about to have a fully customizable module (with customized fields). Someone could organize his CD collection, someone else the list of his customers... etc. I mean the same as already present in ToDo module - but fully independent (separated from ToDos)
Even the name of that module could be customized (by default something like "My database")
I hope this is not too difficult to introduce and I think it would significantly increase the value of EPIM.

Re: New Modules Idea
Hello, today I have read another suggestion from amaseb
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11822&p=49111#p49111
and I think my idea of fully customizable module (see above) would fulfill amaseb's wishes.
Any comments from EPIM Team or other users?

Re: New Modules Idea
A (free database?) module where you can add, sort, print fields whatever you want would sure be a great addition.
Of course a link to the other modules, like Contacts, ToDo and Appointments would be "required", since otherwise it can also be done with any other database program.

Re: New Modules Idea
Peter, I agree. It should be an almost free module, but inside EPIM. It should be connected with other EPIM modules (e.g.to be searchable using Advanced search) and it should obey other general EPIM rules. I don't know how to do that (I'm not a programmer) but I hope that EPIM programmers will think about it.
