Specify calendar appointments all day or time in options
In the program options, could you add in the calendar section the option to specify the default for new calendar items as EITHER all day or time specific. I almost never use the all day format, so have to uncheck the "all day" box on every appointment before I can specify a time.

Re: Specify calendar appointments all day or time in options
+1 from me.
For more than 90% of my appointments I fill in the time, so it would be nice if I do not have to deselect the "all day" first.

Re: Specify calendar appointments all day or time in options
There are multiple ways to create non- All-day appointments.
You can select any timeslot in day/week view, or click "New Appointment" in same views.

Doesn't work in the month view. New appointments are always all-day ones.Max wrote:There are multiple ways to create non- All-day appointments.

Of course... the Month view does not have the UI granularity to specify time slots.Mel wrote:Doesn't work in the month view. New appointments are always all-day ones.Max wrote:There are multiple ways to create non- All-day appointments.

Re: Specify calendar appointments all day or time in options
It's obvious but I dont want to specify time slots in the grid. I understand the topic author meant a user-defined option that clears the default setting "all-time event" ("New appointment" dialog) and uses current time in "Start/End time" fields. Such functionality would allow for rapid entry of a new event within a given time slot regardless the view. Of course, it is possible now but the clickology is a PITA:NormTheStorm wrote:Of course... the Month view does not have the UI granularity to specify time slots.Mel wrote:Doesn't work in the month view. Even so in Year view
New event
De-select "All-time event"
Click "Start time" drop-down box
Click Now
Click "End-time" drop-down box
Click Now
Fill in event details
With the new option:
New event
Fill in event details
So there's a difference.

Re: Specify calendar appointments all day or time in options
The by Mel described NEW option is already implemented (although the time is rounded, not really now) in the table view. If you click new appointment in table view you get a time near to now.
Max, correct in day and week view you can select the timeslot by clicking on it. Also as I just pointed out in table view you get a time close to now.
But in week agenda, month and year view you always get an all day event. Like others I primarily use month view, so I have to deselect the all day event almost every time. So it sure would be nice if we can select an option in the menu (like show/hide completed) in the view section. Or that we can set behaviour with a setting in the options menu. Than (possibly) we can select all day or now (by deselecting the all day option).
