Two Week View

How about a Two Week ("Multi Week") View ? As the option in Thunderbird Calendar ...
Appears to be very handy, just between Week and Month Vieuw

Hello,

in Pro version you can already specify how many days are displayed in Week view. You can choose to show up to 14 days.

Correct, but please compare:
- Epims 14 days are 14 vertical, very narrow shafts, too narrow to write anything inside.
- Thunderbird Calendar 2 weeks are 7 vertical shafts, first week upper half, second week lower half, much better.

It is just a matter of taste and width of your screen.

Two-Week-View

Postby Marien » Sun May 27, 2012 10:47 pm

Hi Max,

I have a standard 17-inch monitor, as many, or most, people probably do. When I set EPIM to Two-Week-View, 14 very narrow columns appear next to each other, separated, moreover, by blank lines, which appear only in Week-View. This leaves insufficient room for readable entries, however brief:
- only 7 to 8 digits per entry, with the Navigation Pane closed
- only 5 to 6 digits per entry, with the Navigation Pane open, the probable situation with many or most users.

In EPIM Month-View, the 7 columns appear to be wide enough, but the drawback is here that per day only 4 entries (lines) are visible (without scrolling), which probably is insufficient for most users.

So I suggest (again):
- make Two-Week-View as Month-View, but with only 2 instead of 5 rows.
- eliminate the vertical blank separation lines between the days, to help free up necessary space.

I trust that most users will then be able to make a (still) better use of EPIM. If I remember well, in the past there have been more suggestions supporting this approach.

Actually, I have two 17-inch monitors. Both have as (their best) resolutions: 1024 x 768. I experimented adapting resolutions, but was not happy about the outcome, so I switched back. Expanding the number of days in Week View has a limit, with me everything over 8 days, with larger monitors probably more. In the past, users also strongly suggested a Three Week View, which never can mean 21 vertical columns, even in larger monitors. For most people the (very) near future and their weekly schedule are most important. Two Week View and Three Week View would respect that and could have the same setup as Month View, only fewer weeks.
