Difference between Pro and Pro Business?

Post by Christine »

I've used EPIM only offline for my personal business for many years, don't use "smart" phones for work and try to keep my info on my own equipment.

Now I'm looking for software to share research etc. with others. To try it out, I attempted to install Pro Business but it wouldn't install because I already have Pro installed.

I really like the EPIM folder and note structure, but obviously don't want to share my personal info.

Am I limited to one version?

Thanks!

Christine, you can always install the Business version into a separate directory. This will allow you to have multiple EPIM versions installed on a single machine. Thanks.

Thanks!

So I had read at https://www.essentialpim.com/help/index ... _cloud.htm:

"All your data can be easily accessed from any device or PC even without EssentialPIM installed, just using a web browser."

But at https://www.essentialpim.com/help/index ... _cloud.htm:

"Please note that while EssentialPIM can sync all your data with EPIM Cloud, only the Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts modules can be accessed directly via a web browser. Other modules, such as Notes and Passwords, are securely stored in the cloud and can only be accessed through the Windows or Android versions of EssentialPIM."

I only want to share notes (research), so everybody would have to install EPIM on their device?

Yes, that would likely be the preferred approach.

So could you maybe update to reflect that notes can't be accessed with a browser?

"All your data can be easily accessed from any device or PC even without EssentialPIM installed, just using a web browser."

I don't think that'll work for me since I want to share my research in the notes easily with non-techies without having to install software.

We are planning to make notes available via the web in the near future. As for sharing your notes with non-technies, you can also consider syncing some of them through platforms like Google Drive.
