Just re-installed version 5.81 and experienced the Socket Error. After replacing the two DLL files, my pop-based e-mail downloads like a charm! Thanks for the fix.

For what it's worth, all my failed version 5.8 e-mail downloads occurred with POP-configured accounts. (I have no IMAP configurations set up for EPIM).

Same issue here. Using Norton 360 on Windows 7 Home Premium. Disabled the firewall, restarted EPIM. Each of my e-mail accounts (from different ISP's) resulted in the socket error mentioned above.
