Re: EPIM Synchronizer to new to older version
I'd +1 a downgrade tool. I also have a database I'd like to move back to v6.
Though if you want an alternative to a down grade tool I'd suggest a spin off product dedicated to privacy, security, and speed.
- Remove email all together from it.
- Remove syncing to non-self hosted options ...

+1 here for not liking the new bar.
I have a big 4k monitor, but I use EPIM in a little window the vast majority of the time.

Re: REPLIES being spammed
But since that was my business and many of my clients were identity theft victims, I know a little about the LACK of online security.
Not joining this conversation not interested, but since I get these in my RSS feeds and work in network security I feel inclined to point out that if your ...

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 2
Clean up for previous steps seems like it misses the point of the feature compared to how EPIM works.
It's a one button cleans up everything super nuke—but... steps in passwords, and contacts may never be desired to cleaned, whereas steps in notes, calendar, tasks may be desired to be cleaned out ...

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
As someone who uses the wide layout in notes, I would like to point out that adding a second pane for favorites and recent could fix a long standing major flaw / annoyance in the wide layout: The complete waste of space to the right of the tree.

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
Okay, some words about the Previous Versions feature. You obviously confuse it with another feature that might be implemented in Notes (only?) in the future EPIM versions called "Revisions". When not the entire previous state of an item is being recorded but just its textual part. Hence your ...

Re: EssentialPIM 10.0 Release Candidate 1
+1 current state of note history is not very useful, and dangerous.
Alarm bells ringing in my head, I decided to make a macro to simulate my normal work day worth of edits.

Special request: Export notes as leaf name only
This is a small special request that shouldn't take much to implement, but since I debt too many people would use it, I'll understand if it's not done.
I would like a note export option: Leaf Name
That only used the name of each leaf and did not prefix them with the notes name.
I want to be able ...

That's part of MS "App Recommendations / smartscreen", "feature" (read ad for the app store).
If you would like to disable this fear tactic ad system there is plenty of how-to's. Here's the first result from google: https://www.top-password.com/blog/app-you-are-trying-to-install-isnt-microsoft ...

Re: UD.db - Unversal Dummy Database Project
Submitted my setup on the doc. As an after thought / extra comment you should try and make the database in v6.58 first that way you can also use it to benchmark EPIM versions.

Re: Export speed has tanked in v9
Watching the folder more carefully for 9.10.6 what happens is the first 1500~2000ish notes export fairly fast, and then it just crawls after that and keeps getting slower, by the 5,000th note it is only export a single note every other second even if the note is just one sentence of plain text ...

Re: Export speed has tanked in v9
When you re-imported your notes from TXT files into the 8.66 version, there was no text formatting involved, therefore it took much less time to export them. To make an accurate test you now need to import these TXT files into the new EPIM 9.10.6 db and then export. Will there be any difference ...

Export speed has tanked in v9
I just spent 35mins waiting for 6,000 notes to export in version 9.10.6.
I was pretty sure that seemed much longer than I was expecting, so I re-imported all the notes into an old copy of 8.66, then export all of them again, and the same batch of notes took only 10 seconds to export in 8.66 as ...

Re: Small toolbar like in Word
Honestly Words little ghostly popup bar is pretty amazing, and is surprisingly not super annoying. I skipped from office XP to 2016 and when I first saw it I thought it was going to be the worst thing ever, but by the end of the first day I was quite impressed. It works very well, and does save ...
