Re: Some serious privacy concerns

This is really strange as I have this effect on three devices (Android 5.1/8.1/9.0). So it could be related to some personal settings I changed on all of them, although no system or app setting (beside the one which allows this explicitly) should affect whether EPIM for Android contacts remote serve...

Re: Some serious privacy concerns

EPIM for Android v5.8.1 just came in in my tablet (Android 8.1) and upon start of the new version (you'll guess it:) my firewall again recorded a connection attempt to some Google server.

So it's still not fixed. Pity.

Re: Some serious privacy concerns

Sorry to have to report that, but the connection attempts reappeared some hours ago! I haven't changed anything in the settings. See this screenshot: EPIM.jpg This is an excerpt from the protocol of "No Root Firewall". The green lines indicate allowed outbound connections. The red lines in...

Re: Some serious privacy concerns

I did as you requested and indeed, no further connection attempts have appeared since then. So it could be fixed, at least for now. However, I haven't touched this option for a long time and nevertheless the connection requests reappeared at some time in the past. How can I be sure that this will ne...

Re: Bring it all together

Hi there, sorry for the delay. What are the existing bugs? See for example here: https://www.essentialpim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=115068 (This one will celebrate its first birthday soon. "Will attempt to fix in the next update." Several updates since then and no fix. Just tested with a p...

Re: Bugs with Android calendar widgets

Hi, another observation concerning #2 : A friend of mine also uses EPIM for Android (Pro version) on his Android 7.0 phone. Unlike me, he wants to see the birthdays of his contacts in the calendar, but some of them are missing there. So the opposite phenomenon also seem to occur. We found out a work...

Re: Bugs with Android calendar widgets

#1: :D #2: Done, and indeed the now contact doesn't appear in the calendar. I also tried setting a birthday for an already existing contact formerly without one: This birthday doesn't appear either. #3: At least this one is ugly and there must be a reason for this. Maybe it's fixable? I just stumbl...

Re: Bring it all together

EPIM is great software, no day passes without me using it. Its customer support is outstanding, Max really listens to his users. +1 But for me the benefits of new features are smaller than the problems with the updates (even though they always get fixed). So let me suggest to start consolidating EP...

Bugs with Android calendar widgets

Hi there, I'm currently experimenting with EPIM for Android (v5.80) on some devices with different Android versions (5.1, 8.1, 9.0) and found some quirks with the calendar, in particular with the widgets. #1 On Android 9.0 the background of the small calendar widget is always bright, no matter which...

Re: Some serious privacy concerns

While this seems to have been corrected with an update at some time in the past year, the new v5.8 of EPIM for Android obviously reintroduced it: Immediately after the update (and several times since then) it wanted to contact a Google IP despite the fact that I have deactivated this Google Analytic...

Pro license without Google account?

Hi there,

a friend of mine asked me today if it is possible to buy a EPIM for Android Pro license without having a Google account. Is there a possibility to do so?
