So, the only difference for you would be in the way how reminder works? I am not sure if this is what other users want from recurring to-do's.
Now you see the problem I think- many users want recurring to-do's, but nobody has a logical idea how it should be demonstrated in the interface.

Adding an icon is not a problem, what happens when user click on the to-do "completed" and in what way will it different from an "ordinary" to-do?

Hmmm, let me think... Maybe:

- the user can not click on "completed" at all. The "completed" checkbox is absent;
- or there is a "completed" checkbox ...

So say if there are 10 occurances of the same To-Do, will you see all 10 to-do's on the list, or...?
I'd say one is sufficient - if you click on it you could see (and edit) the reccurance parameters. Wouldn't this be an appropriate approach?

But in what way would a repeating to-do be different ...

Yes, please. For me too...

Why not make it similar to the "repeat task" possibility. A hide feature would be nice, as long as you can one entry in the todo list (for instance with an additional column where you you can see that it is repetitive).
