When I open the calendar in all time period spans, the background is grey. If I enter Tools > option > Modules I can't find calendar listed there to try and correct this.
Can anyone please help me?

It seems the problem is with Google. They disabled support for the previous API which was supposed to be supported until April 2015. This has caught alot developers off guard.

Sorry to have troubled you.
It was no bother and no need to be sorry. I had a bit of free time and was interested, so I investigated the issue. I import a lot of iCal files as I can't sync directly with Outlook at work due to workstation restrictions.

I had the same error until I realized what my problem was. No DNS server or the like on my local network to translate the name to IP.

To fix, I used the IP of the server instead of the name and the client connected instantly.

I have had this error as well.

I found that deleting the sync by going into Options - Synchronization - Google and pressing "Delete Account". Then recreating the Google sync by going to File - Synchronization - Add Synchronization works here.

As long as it is a option to have alarms for all events or not. I for one would hate to have alarms for all events I create as most of all my events don't need to have the alarm set.
