Thought I would try to use EPIM (Pro) to send emails to a Class List (have been using Thunderbird).
Imported a csv file from Excel (simple: Last Name, First Name, Email).
These names simply got entered under "My Contacts"
(if there is an Option to Import To A Group Name I missed it - )
SO: Did an Advanced Search - Look in Contacts - Created is [today's date]. Great: Found all 57 names!
PROBLEM: Having FOUND the names - and generated a nice on-screen list of same - it appears that there is NOTHING I CAN DO WITH THE LIST, Other Than to DELETE them all - ?!?!?
The GOAL / EXPECTATION was that I would be able to ASSIGN all of the Found Contacts to a Group - but (again) see NO Options for the found names other than Deletion.
Am I (hopefully) Missing something? Is there another approach that would work?
( Adding 57 Names - individually - AFTER Manually Finding Each from among the Entire Contact List - would simply take too long. Better off with T-Bird, which "automatically" Imports all of the Contacts into a New List / Group)
If No Solution Now - any chance some Ability to WORK WITH Search Results may be added down the line?
Thanks -

Re: Working with Search:Contacts List
May have partially found an Answer:
1) Created a New Group Name, then Imported the list WHILE THAT GROUP NAME WAS SELECTED.
Even though there was NO INDICATION of what was happening, when I opened the Group - to ADD the Imported Names - found that the Group was already populated with the just-imported list (csv file).
Had taken a quick look at the HELP File for EPIM, and did not see a notice about this behavior. Perhaps because I looked "Import" instead of "Group" - ??
2) Had taken another run the process because I added an EXTRA FIELD to the Excel Export file ("Company Name"), and put the CLASS NAME in that field - hoping I would be able to Search on COMPANY from within the Group Dialog to find & add Contacts. Not clear whether that would actually work - ??

Re: Working with Search:Contacts List
There multiple ways of achieving what you need in this case.
Yes, one is to select group and import CSV there.
Another is to use a search in the main window (not Advanced search) and drag and drop contacts into required group.
When in Contacts main window, look at top right search bar- use that search to filter contacts you need and drag and drop them into any Contact group.

Thanks: that process does work:Max wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 11:31 pm ..... Another is to use a search in the main window (not Advanced search) and drag and drop contacts into required group.

With "My Contacts" selected in Contacts Window; Searched for the "Class Name" (which was imported as "Company" name from original Excel class list);
This found all of the class members, and was then able to drag them into a "Test" Contacts Group.
Inserting the Date Created into this Search Window also produces the expected results - that is, the same Class List.
Have No Idea why I ended up trying to use Advanced Search - in too much of a hurry perhaps.
Although it would still be Nice to be able to "use" a list produced from the Advanced Search dialog!
Thanks again for the help!
