I noticed that EPIM installs and uses Firebird v2.5. Further development of that version ceased in mid-2019:

Although there are no issues with v2.5, do the folks at EPIM expect to roll to the current version, v3, at some point?

Re: Fire:bird Database Version
Probably yes, although we tested Firebird v3.0 and it turned out to be slower on some intensive tasks when a database is used locally (through a DLL file). Therefore we do not currently see any real advantages for switching over to the 3.0 version.

Re: Fire:bird Database Version
That's fair enough, no point rolling if it doesn't buy you anything.
The only concern is that any future development of the platform for v2.5 isn't likely, so future enhancements to Firebird (in v3) won't come through with the current platform. Not a biggie, but could potentially limit EPIM''s future growth.

Firebird v3 will soon be history, so we might skip it and jump straight into v4 instead

Are you looking for some specific new feature that's supported in Firebird v4 only?
