iCal import issues (german special characters)

Post by 180grad »

Hello,

I am using EssentialPIM for already two years, because it is the best PIM solution for Windows and Android. :D
There is one little thing that is annoying. When I want to import an iCal Calender in German, I have troubles with the special german special characters. I am using EssentialPIM for Windows 5.57. See the attached screenshot.

Thank you very much for the help in advance.

Best wishes from Vienna,
Harald

Hello,

please post here or send me a PM with an iCal file so that I could check it on latest version of EPIM. Please also indicate which field exactly I should check.

the ics file is in UTF-8, try to convert it to Windows-1252 before importing (solved the problem here).

Hello Max,

The calendar was imported from the link of my university website. I also tried to import the calendar file and got the same result.
This problem occured also at other calendar imports. See files attached.

Hello,

I could not reproduce the problem. I have imported oebb.ics and the only task there was fine (I think so), see the screenshot (I am using latest 6.0 RC1 which is available in public now):
