cannot write key information

Re: cannot write key information
What if you manually write the key in the .ini file and save it (portable version)? Save it in the .ini and open it afterwards to see, if it is saved. If it is saved, I can not imagine, that EPIM does not accept or overwrite it- it has to work. If not, than Windows prevents you from saving and writing. Another possibillity would be, to look into the Windows registry. Here you can look at the correct key or correct it if wrong (installed version).

Re: cannot write key information
This makes no sense, especially resurrecting a 2 year old post. What are you trying to say?

Re: cannot write key information
Where do you find the ini file (path)?
Everything I mention comes out of my experience. I'm not an expert. Feel free to try anything I suggest ... but always at your own risk.
Re: cannot write key information
You use the portable version. So, the EssentialPim.ini is in the same folder where you stored the portable version, in the program folder you choosed for the portable version.

Sorry ... my question obviously was misunderstandable.
Ich wanted to say @GKDantas, to please tell us, where (in his case) he found the ini file (exact path).
In addition to that the date of the file might be of help

Re: cannot write key information
Hi here is the path for the portable version
H:\GKDantas\Utilitarios\EPIM (same path installation of Epim)
Both INI files are from the same date 31/07/2021 (07/31/2021)
Even running Epim as ADM it cant write to the ini file (the INI file already have the data with my key)

Re: cannot write key information
Why I asked, was, that several months ago, I had the same problem. But I cannot recall, how I solved it.
What I DO remember is, that I realised, in my case, that Windows7 redirects directories, so that no harm can be done to the originals. It uses a directory "VirtualStore".
Some files donot exist, where one would guess, they are, but in that redirected directory.
In my case (I installed with standard values), essentialpim.ini exists in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\EssentialPIM Pro\EssentialPIM.ini" - searching for the file, I will find it there.
In there I will also find my databases (in directory ..\database).
Program however will tell you, that it's C:\program Files\EssentialPIM Pro where everything is in. This redirection thing (VirtualStore) doesnot give you any writing rights there however.
Please donot ask me, what this is all about. I donot even know, whether this fact had something to do with my solution, those days. I understood those days, but donot have the time now, to reread reunderstand etc.
But thought these words might help somebody. If not, I'm sorry ... just wanted to try to help

Re: cannot write key information
What, if you just copy this portable EPIM folder, transfer it to another computer and try it there? Either you habe a second computer, or just ask a friend. Will it work there? And, after you tried this and transfer it back to your computer..... will it work there?

Re: cannot write key information
Ok, just copyed the portable folder and one database to a clean notebook (asus i5 5200). Deleted the INI file and Epim asked for registration as usual, after enter the key for the first time everything was fine until I close the program, wait and start it again, the same problem occur, maybe a problem with my serial.

Re: cannot write key information
You're using an older license key that doesn't include updates to the latest version and the message states that.
