E-mail doesn't show

When a new email arrives it shows instantly in GMail (windows browser) and on my phone.
But it never shows in ePIM. I have to restart the program or switch email folders to make it show my message.
I just want my message to arrive instantly. Not even minutes later. I searched for a setting but found none.
As a test I mailed myself from my phone before I went to bed. The next morning the message still hasn't arrived in ePIM

Make sure you enable the "Get new messages instantly" option, which is in the account settings, under the Advanced tab. Thanks.

Thanks, I'd had a similar problem and this pointed me to the right part of the account settings menu to fix it.
