Custom Fields

Post by bobmac1547 »

When I imported contacts and tasks into EPIM via CSV, some custom fields were created. After transferring the data to other fields, I no longer need those fields.

In each form, there is a trashcan icon next to the field. Does that delete the field from the database entirely? or just from that record?

And what about the "X" at the right side of a field? Does that hide or delete the field from that record?

The field will be deleted from the database.

Could you please upload a screenshot here showing which "X" you mean?

Thanks! This just hides fields from the view.

Is that record-specific or does it apply to all records?

How can I unhide a field previously hidden?

It applies to all records. To unhide a filed, simply click on the "Add New" button.

It shouldn't delete the content of the field?

Let's say, I have contact1 & contact 2, and in a custom field there are 'sample text 1' & 'sample text 2'.
I click on X near the custom field in the contact 1 --> the field is hidden.
With 'Add New' to unhide:
- in the contact 1 I'll get the empty field ('sample text 1' was erased),
- in the contact 2 I'll get the field with 'sample text 2' (the data is intact for every contact, except the one in which I clicked on X).

(An animated gif is attached).

It probably shouldn't. Will check if this is something we can easily fix for the new relese.
