Launch error
Hello,
Sometimes I get the following error when launching EPIM:
Access violation at address 01555BFF in module'EssentialPIM.exe '. Read of address00000000.
Despite this error, the program works normally after closing the warning window.
I have reinstalled the program several times already.
I also disabled the synchronization at launch, without success, the error persists.
What is the cause of this error?

Re: Launch error
I'd suggest you to check out the 9.9 Beta1 version, maybe there's no such error anymore with it. Just let me know and will forward you the download instructions via PM.

OK. Thanks.
Version 9.9 beta 1 is installed.
I will let you know if the error is gone or not, but it is not an error that always occurs. So it will take a little time for checking.

Re: Launch error
Hello,
The error is still there.
I have the impression that it appears after its 1st launch after starting the computer.

Re: Launch error
Sorry, I no longer have this report.
I did a full uninstall (with RevoUnistaller) keeping only my database, then a clean reinstallation of version 9.8.
I will see if the error still occurs.

Re: Launch error
Hello,
I deleted my two synchronizations (Google and Microsoft ToDo) then, I redefined them. Since these changes, I have not had any more errors.
If the error returns, I will post the report.

Re: Launch error
Hello,
I still had the problem after resetting the Google and Microsoft ToDo syncs.
I finally deleted the sync with Microsoft ToDo and since that deletion I have no more errors.
The responsible for the error was therefore most likely the synchronization With Microsoft ToDo

Re: Launch error
Hello,
My wife is using EPIM on the same computer as me, and she does not have the error message I reported.
She therefore uses the same program but not the same profile.
While checking out, I found that she didn't sync with Microsoft ToDo.
This is what made me think that the responsible for the error was this synchronization

Re: Launch error
Interestingly enough we don't get similar error reports from other users who use MS ToDo sync.. Maybe deleting the existing synchronization and creating a new one will solve it?

Re: Launch error
Hello,
I had already tried a deletion and then a new creation of Microsoft ToDo synchronization. This had not solved the problem (see my previous posts).
I can only tell you what I can see: since the deletion of the synchronization of Microsoft ToDo, the problem has completely disappeared for several days.
I believe that the introduction of this synchronization dates from July 2020 and is therefore relatively recent. How many users are using it?
Hope you don't believe that all EPIM users bring their problems to you.
You also know that no two PCs are the same. What can pose a problem for a few is not necessarily general.
I consider my problem to be resolved. I no longer use Microsoft ToDo and sync my tasks with Google Tasks again.
With the exception of this EPIM error, I add that my computer is working perfectly.

Re: Launch error
Usually if some general problem appears during sync we get to know that right away as even though not everybody reporting it, there's still a large number of people who do. Taking that into account your situation seems quite unique. In any case, we've already made some adjustments regarding the situation that are to be included in the next EPIM's release.
