Tasks tree structure lost on export/import

Post by vnomad »

Greetings! Been a happy ePim-er for many years now :D

On Pro 9.8, try this to reproduce the issue:
  • 1. Make a ePim Task list with subtasks in the tree.
    2. Export the list as iCal (*.ics)
    3. Import this same list to ePim Tasks
    4. The subtask tree structure is lost. No hierarchy.
If we look at the .ics file exported, it is clear that no relational information is written.
Most commonly the missing info is something of this sort: RELATED-TO;RELTYPE=PARENT:[UID]

So, if I manually add the missing lines to the exported file eg: "RELATED-TO;RELTYPE=PARENT:335646195907274085", then import works as expected, and the tree structure is preserved in, for instance, ToDoList (by Abstractspoon).
But ePim still imports the Tasks as a Plain list with no hierarchy, even with relational information properly present in the .ics file.

A solution would be greatly appreciated!

Support for hierarchy in iCal files will be added in one of the next versions of EPIM.
Android version of EssentialPIM. Keep all your data in sync!

Thanks.
We are very much looking forward to keeping our trees alive ;)
