Task dates reset to 1/1/1900 on editing

Post by execuboy »

Version 9.9.6, Windows 10 latest version:
When I double click on a task that has start and end dates, the task loses those original dates, and both start and end dates are reset to 1/1/1900 when the task is opened for editing.
Thanks for any help.

Unable to reproduce, please check if there's going to be the same behavior on the new database. If so, please record a small video demonstrating the issue.

Hi,
I don't know how to make a movie, but please find the demonstration from screen shots in the attached file.
When I create a new database I cannot recreate the problem when a new task is created.
Thanks

Please try to copy-paste one of the tasks shown on the screenshots into the new DB and check if the issue will happen then. We will know then whether the problem is database or a particular task dependent.

Hi,
When I copy and paste a task into a new database and perform the same steps the problem does not appear.
To recap:
When the task is double clicked, the from and to dates change to 1/1/1900 in the editing screen.
When the task is set to 100% completion and saved, the task in the list shows the expected month and day, but the year shows as 1901 (for an annual recurrence).
No matter which task I try the result is the same.
Thanks

Okay, so the error seems to be a database dependent one. There are 2 options then:
1. You create a copy of your database file, delete all the sensitive info from the copy leaving just couple of tasks, make sure the error is still there and then forward it to us. Will check what's causing the error and fix that.
2. Synchronize your current database into the new one using EPIM Synchronizer.

Re: Task dates reset to 1/1/1900 - solved

Post by execuboy »

Thank you for your excellent support - it seems to work now.
I used the synch program to copy everything into a new database.
The task problem was still there. However, when I deleted the tasks and then copied and pasted them from the previous database the issue seemed to resolve itself.
Many thanks again.

Hi,
The problem is back, but I can provide more information on when it happens.
The problem occurs when the tasks are set to Read Only.
When the tasks are set to *not* Read Only, the tasks seem to work as expected.
When the tasks are set to Read Only, the dates appear as 1/1/1900 when the task is opened for editing etc. as described before.
Thanks again.

Please find attached a newly created database which illustrates the problem. Just change a task to read only. I did copy and paste some tasks from the existing database.
Thanks

Thanks, even though your attached database requires a password, we were able to reproduce the issue with the read-only tasks on a completely new database. Will be fixed in the next update.
