EPIM 9.9x: HTTP 1/1 400 Bad request error upon synchronizing

Post by EFvanGelder »

I think there might be a bit of a problem with the new releases of EPIM.

I used EPIM PRO Portable r9.6, and have never experienced any problem synchronizing my database with Google with this EPIM release.
In particular not, when synchronizing my contacts, one way, from EPIM to Google (Contacts only)

Now I upgraded from EPIM PRO Portable r 9.6 to EPIM PRO Portable r 9.95, using the same database.
I tried to synchronize my contacts again, one way sync (from EPIM to Google), like I used to do with the former relase.
Only now I experience a http 1/1 400 bad request error.

I then installed the full EPIM Pro version (NOT the portable one), release 9.95, with the same database:
I still got the http 1/1 400 bad request error.

Then I upgraded both the full install as well as the portable version, to release r9.96. With the same database.
I still got the http 1/1 400 bad request error.

Then I rolled back to EPIM PRO Portable r9.6, same database.
I have no problem syncing the database whatsoever (in particular the contacts).

Finally, I tried all this on my second computer, with the exact same results.

Operating system is Windows 10, latest upgrades installed. Sync settings: One way sync, contacts only, from EPIM to Google.
EPIM 9.6 works fine, EPIM 9.95 produces an HTTP 1/1 400 Bad request error, EPIM 9.96 produces the same error, back to EPIM r9.6, same database, no error.
With kind regards,

The problem is solved!

I used to synchronize my contacts unidirectional, from EPIM to Google. Which worked fine while I was using EPIM r9.6
Apparently, after upgrading to EPIM r9.9x, one has to perform at least one bidirectional, or one unidirectional sync, but the other way around: from Google to EPIM.
Some changes in the database are then made in this sync, i.e. some field labels ere added/changed.
After that, one can (if preferred) switch back to the original setting: Unidirectional from EPIM to Google.
The bad request / http 400 error doesn't occur anymore. At least, in my case, that is.
