Options in File>Synchronization>Edit sync>Google***> are:
1. Sync data Select calendars. All 9 of my calenders (=categories?) are ticked.
2. Create calendars in Google for each of EPIM categories is unticked.
A. Are my 9 calendars formed from the category allocation?
B. What should or should not show up in the Google calendar?

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
A. You 9 calendars were probably created in Google Calendar.
B. The question isn't clear, unfortunately, please rephrase it.

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
My apologies, admin.
2. Create calendars in Google for each of EPIM categories is unticked.
A. If I tick this I presume that Google will create 9 calendars from the 9 categories Yes/No?
B. If I leave this unticked does Google just record the entries on the Google calendar as individual appointments Yes/No?
C. If C=No what does Google do with the entry?

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
A. Depends on which categories your events were assigned to in EPIM. For every assigned category a new Google Calendar will be created.
B. Depends on which categories your events are assigned to in EPIM. If that's a not the very first sync and you created events and assigned them categories which names were equal those of Google Calendar, they're going to get into the Google Cal with a name equal to the category name.

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
Thanks, admin. We're getting there.
In 'Sync data Select calendars' I tick all 9 of my calenders (=categories?) BUT in Create calendars in Google for each of EPIM categories I leave unticked. When I do a first sync with Google calendar does Google record all my calendar appointments irrespective of category?

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
You meant to ask if all your appointments from EPIM would be transferred to Google? If so, they will appear in your default Google calendar.

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
Yes. But may I confirm they will still keep their categories in EPIM?
If the answer is 'Yes' please can the Help page https://www.essentialpim.com/help/google.htm be revised to make this clear?

Re: EPIM categories - Google calendar
Absolutely! Sure, will update the Help file accordingly. Although, there's a new feature coming (probably we will not be able to include it in EPIM 10.0 but it's likely to appear in EPIM 10.1) that' will support multiple calendars in EPIM. In this case Google Calendars are to be equal to EPIM calendars. That should eliminate possible confusion.
