"EPIM Today" layout - short days?

Post by Christopher Whitmey »

The EPIM Today layout lists the days in full: e.g. Wednesday. If the customary abbreviations were used (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun) then the viewing window could be narrower without 'scrunching up' the days. Comments, please?

I don't see any benefit of this.
The Windows with is not realy based on the lenght of the day names
but drive by its contents which are below the day names.

I accept that the length of the text can influence the width. But when I narrow the day name column the date overrides the end of the day name and it looks terrible.

Hello,
- it seems something is off with fonts. Most likely some of your Windows settings have some fonts increased
- on your screenshot EPIM window is made really small, I do not think we want to optimise for this particular case

Thanks, Max, for your comments. I'm using the latest Firefox browser and don't have font size problems anywhere else. The screenshot appears small because it is less than half the screen width. This is because at times I need to see another program as well as details of EPIM. Can you suggest what Windows setting you think might be the cause of the problem? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

if you want to see EPIM's window along with other programs on your current screen, you have several options:
- hide Navigation pane on the left ("View" menu)
- Hide Tasks pane (Tools-> Options-> EPIM Today)

Thanks, Max. I need the Navigation pane to see the calendar ;-) I'll just endure 'squashed' days when I need to.

Why are you talking about Firefox for this problem?

In Tools > Options > Appearance > Font Size
What value do you have? The default is 10.

Good question, Ekalb. Probably because above Max said, "Most likely some of your Windows settings have some fonts increased.". I was just pointing out that I had another program that took external fonts without any problems.
My Firefox setting is Times Roman @ 12 which seems to cope with matters very well.
