I often keep my main documents on leaf 1 and then use leaf 2 for important notes.

It would be handy if there was a view mode were I could edit both leafs at the same time.

Example:

+1 I would get a lot of use out of being able to edit two leafs at one time.

+1 I use leaves similar to SilverSound.

+1 70% of my notes are setup in a way were being able have dual pane two leaves would be an amazing feature.

+1 I would love this as long as the two panes sizes where adjustable and not fixed at 50/50.
My second leaf's are todo list and quick point information so I only need them to take up 20% of the screen.

+1 I'd find this quite a useful time savor and a great use for my bigger monitor. I avoid using EPIM in full screen since then the note area gets too massive, being able to split it into two panes though would be great.

+1 I frequently need to reference things on a second leaf and tend to always have a popup editor open so I can see it to the side of the main window. This would simplify my habit greatly.
