I'd like to suggest an option to always show parents for matches in quick search.
Ideally the parents would be greyed out or something to indicate that the search term wasn't found in them directly.
Often I do a quick search and I have a bunch of notes with the same name, and I'm not sure which is the one I'm looking for because I can't see the parents that they belong to.
Mini example:
quick search for: "Fred Myer" I get:
Which is basically a useless mess.
Ideally this would be the results instead:
Option to show parents with quick search

Re: Option to show parents with quick search
+1 It would be very helpful in most cases for me to see the parents of quick search results.

Thanks for the suggestion, noted.

Re: Option to show parents with quick search
+1 For this. The example from RoseFord is good, using greyed out text for the tree. Also would allow '2022' to be highlighted if the search text, 'Fred Myers' was in the '2022' root note. How about extending search results with the 'Found Count' ? Similar to the 'Show number of sub-Items' in Notes.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Shaun, could you please elaborate a bit more about the "Found Count" suggestion? Not sire I fully understand it.

Re: Option to show parents with quick search
Hi EPimAdmin
I tried to attach a small photo ..
In the Notes section, tools, options, there is 'Show number of sub-Items', also, the count of unread e-mail messages in the mail section.
A suggestion is to add the same display to the 'new' search output with 'show parents'.
For example if the text 'Fred Myer' was found 8 times in 2020/Jan/2nd and 103 times in 2020/Jan/4th, then a small 8 and 103 would be displayed on the relevant output lines. Similarly for all the remaining lines.
A question, should a single search count == 1, be displayed as '1' or just default to showing the found location.
Thanks again, let me know if you would like any more details.

Got it now, thanks. Will see if your additional suggestion about showing the numbers will bring up some "+1"'s
