It's really uncommon that I need to read the manual to figure out what I have to expect.
* The EssentialPIM "filter" is called autofilter in Excel/Calc. So maybe start there. I assumed clicking filter - in the toolbar - would open dialog (for filtering). Or apply kind of filter, so only from certain sender. Except I couldn't grasp difference with search (also a filter).
* Tooltip could be more informative too
* Icon could be adapted to (look at LibreOffice Calc or Excel)
* And doubt the position most logical. Mark as spam removes a e-mail. Manage folders does open dialog. I would actually put a small clickable icon next to the columns to toggle autofilter on off. Is actually next to where it's applied. So maybe easier to "connect the dots" without reading the manual
