input-issues by editing tasks or adjust dates

Post by Chris17 »

Setting dates in in tasks: there are four little issues to be fixed, still in the new version 9.8:
Not essentielly, but saving time - the more tasks, the more time:

1. By setting time to due-date and to alarm, the fields react differently to the input:
start-time and due-time: the cursor switches automatically from hour-field to minute-field, when one finished writing the hours. That ist fine.
To set alarm-time, You have to set the cursor manually from hours to minute-field. That ist one click/touch too much, if You are in a hurry ;-).

2. When Start-date ist set, alarm--date will automatically be set to start-date, not to due--date.
If there is a task which lasts days or months, You have to set alarm-date every time manually when start-date is in the past.
So please make the task intelligent to decide if start-date is in the past an an alarm-date must be between now an due-date.
So I would prefer: when start-date ist in the past, alarm-date should automatically switch to due-date.

3. The new function to adjust -dates from the context-menu for a batch of tasks is great. But there is no sense when alarms are set which remain in past. The alarms should change the same span like the due-date (or when start-date is in future, to start-date)

4. When due-date and alarm-date are set and the due-date shall be moved to another day:
The alarm-date will not automatically change with due-date, even when alarm-date is in the past. You have first do uncheck alarm-date, then it will change automatically. And then You have to check it again. That are two clicks to much.

It think it is easy to fix these little issues and users may save much time.

Thanks very much for the suggestions, indeed they aren't the hardest ones to implement, so I think we should have them ready by the next version.
Android version of EssentialPIM. Keep all your data in sync!
