Troublesome bug: filters not sustained in Contacts' groups, for years

Post by Trinitylab »

Hi,

EPIM Biz, Win 8.1, Win 10, x64

I see that for years the dev team has been neglecting the persistent, and repetitive problem:

some of the contacts records do not keep their assignments to some filters' groups.
Usually, this "loosing of assignment" happens during updates.

This IS a problem.
Simple example: we put contacts (prospects) into the group/filter in Contacts, named 'to be contacted soon/in a week, month etc'.
To do it, ie. to find the contacts, and then manually check them through several actions, including direct contact, takes A LOT of time. Like one contact per half a day.
Imagine we put 20, and lost all of them. Meaning, contacts/records exist, but it means nothing, all the actions are needed to be taken again.
This has not happened once. It's repetitive.
The reason I did not write about it is a lack of time, I write here about 20% of the discovered bugs.

Currently, I wanted to order the gifts for Christmas, and we still have the filter for all the people, employees and clients, who got that last year. Now I needed to add X number of new ones, and would get the rough calculation. Surprise. The filters are empty, no contacts there. I had to stop a phone talk with the guy who makes them, and search for it.

Fortunately, there are backups from May 2018, and yeap, everything is correct in there.

Sorry, guys, very pity. Now I will spend 30 minutes on manually assigning the records to filters, which we have already had done.
And I am sure, with any of your updates, some of them might be removed, as it happened in past many times. For some reason, the filters/groups in Contacts module are not your concern.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear you had this experience.
We are very much interested in reproducing and fixing the issue. Is it reliably reproducible on your side? If yes, we would love a video of it. Or at least some hints to reproducing it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Max,
Unfortunately, not reliably reproducible.
Sometimes, after some updates it happens. Some records loose their assignments. Have no idea why, which.

I understand. However, there should be some logic behind such events, although I see how it can be difficult to track.

Just an idea:
maybe the latest, the newest?
Seems here, the older kept their memberships.
