I'm running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in french and Essential PIM 4.2.3 Français on my phone and Windows 10 Famille 64 bits (French), EPIM 7.11 (free) in french on my PC.
When I try to sync my calendar between my pc and my android phone over my local wifi network, I get an error message on the PC :
Access violation at address 00E12046 in module 'EssentialPIM.exe'. Read of address 00000008
The error message on my phone reads:
I tried with an older epim backup data file on my PC ( I didn't have sync problems at the time of the backup creation). Still got the same error.Synchronization failed
Error info saved in file
Then I went overboard trying to fix the problem
I've first deleted all data from EPIM on my phone (bad idea, didn't realize I'd loose my contact groups)-> didn't help
then completely uninstalled EPIM. I reinstalled from the Play Store. ->didn't help
AND
I've uninstalled EPIM from my PC, then installed the latest version from the website (I believe it's the same I was running, 7.11).
It did NOT fix the problem!
Note that I can sync my contacts (but lost my groups, or rather I lost the link between contacts and their groups, the groups names themselves are still there... at least I think they all are.) if I sync them alone.
I can also sync my notes by themselves. I can also sync Notes and Contacts together.
But not the calendar!
Both my contacts (60) and notes (40) are very small, but my calendar is just under 2000 events in 20 categories.
I created a new data file on my PC with only 1 event in the calendar and tried to sync the calendar -> It worked
Tried once again to sync my real calendar -> same error.
I can't find any log on my phone, but here is the beginning of the log from EPIM on my PC:
