Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
Dear Admin,
Thanks for the quick response. Since the size of the sample DB is over 2 Mb (maximum allowed size for the upload via this forum), I've zip it using 7-zip. Please unzip it to extract the sample db.
Please note that the entry under group "Friends" is the original one and the one not belonging to "Friends" is added by the sychronization process.

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
Dear Admin,
I've encountered a new problem and I would report it here:
After each sync, the 2nd and 3rd entries of the speed dial setting were erased and I had to re-assign them. It seems it has something to do with the synchronization process.

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
William, thanks for the report. Did you edit these contacts in between synchronizations?

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
Very strange, then. We aren't able to reproduce the issue on our side. May I ask you to do the following:
- close your existing database file in EPIM
- create a new one
- synchronize your phone with the new database
- synchronize couple more times
Will you experience the same problem with contacts being removed from the Speed dial setting on your phone? If yes, please post a log file here.

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
What does it mean by creating a new DB, does it mean a copy of the existing DB? I am hesitated to create a brand new db with only a few entry such that the entries in the phones will be wiped out?
I am attaching a log file for the time being.

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
No, you need to create a new database file (File->EPIM Data File). Don't worry, nothing is going to be wiped out if you use a 2-way sync process with the default settings.

Re: Sync Problems: Calendar and Contacts
Dear Admin,
It seems that I could reproduce the problem. You see, in addition to synchronizing the contacts with Androiod, I also sync them with iPad (IOS4). If I sync both at the same time, the 2nd and 3rd entries of the speed dial on android would be erased. If I only sync with Android, the entries would be kept.
See if you can reproduce the same.
