Passwords

Post by mhdixon »

I use EssentialPIM Pro Portable 5.57 on a Windows 7 machine and EssentialPIM Pro 3.0.2 on an Android tablet. The passwords on the Android tablet are password protected and I have forgotten the password. I can access all the passwords on the Windows version without any problem, but without the password I cannot access them on the tablet. Is there any way to reset the password in the Android version of the program?

Thanks,

Mark

Unfortunately it's not possible to reset the password on Android without knowing it (security measure). What you can do is to clear data of the whole app (in this case all the modules will be empty on Android, including passwords) and then sync it with your Windows version of EPIM. Just make sure you clear up the Android sync data in Windows EPIM, as well (click on file->database management, select Android from the drop down list and click on Clear).

Hello admin,
Best in the New Year!
Is this still the only option to clear the data?

Anyway, I am trying to do it, but get the request to provide the password to the Passwords module.
Seems not logic. How to clear the data from the Passwords module?

Thanks! You can uninstall and then reinstall the app, for instance. Although, all data will be lost then.
Asking for password is a security measure.

OK, did it, eventually worked out.

The idea to reset master password to Passwords:
could be sending email to the indicated previously address. Or to the address which is a Google account from which one bought EPIM Android.
I understand texting is not the option, so email would work fine.
