Some bugs in 4.6

Post by Alfhw »

Hi,
I've found some bugs in 4.6.

1) when I edit a field in an existing contact, epim often crash after tapping the tick icon

2) when I tap on any day in the monthly view widget it always open calendar module in the present day. Shouldn't it open calendar on the day I tapped?

3) when I delete a contact using the bin icon in grey upper menu (which is opened by a long tap on the contact), the contact get deleted on both epim contact module and Android central account contact (don't know the correct name, for Samsung touchwiz see below). OK.

On the contrary when I delete a contact using the bin icon of the contact's screen (which is opened by a short tap on the contact), the contact gets deleted only on Epim but not in Android central account contact so I have to do it manually.

1. You mean one of the custom fields? If yes, do you edit the field's name or its contents?
2,3. Confirm these ones, will be fixed in the next version.
Thanks!

No, I mean any field like telephone number, address, name etc. I haven't tried custom fields.

Does EPIM ask you to forward us the crash report when that happens? If yes, please do that.

Thanks! Did you include a message with it indicating the crash is coming from your? As we aren't able to find your crash log so far.

Yes, I included a message. Maybe there was a problem with google server? Anyway I've just sent another report right now with log and the message "Sent by Alfhw as requested in Epim forum".

Hi,
this morning I had a new problem with epim 4.6. There was an appointment notification set at 7.00. Alarm sounded only at 7.16 so with a 16 minute delay! My smartphone (Samsung s4 with stock 4.4.2) was still in airplane mode with screen off since the evening before.

I confirm the bug. This morning again an appointment alarm sounded with a 14 minute delay. Seems that this problem happens when the phone has been several hours untouched in aeroplane mode with screen never turned on. Like when you sleep and you leave your smartphone in aeroplane mode without touching it all the night.

I've just checked but 4.6.1 is not available yet on italian Google Play. It happened also in the past to have a few days delay: seems that Google doesn't release new versions at the same moment in every country.

If you look here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... lpim&hl=it it says "Aggiornata (=updated) 13 marzo (=march) 2017" but "Version 4.6" ...
And if I check from my smartphone it says "Updated on 15 february 2017" and "Version 4.6" ...
Google Play Store is mad...

We can only wait. I will check again in the next days.
Thanks

As always Google Play Store needs time to roll-out updates/new versions.
If you do not want to wait, then you can use the essentialpim.com website to download 4.6.1 => http://www.essentialpim.com/get-epim
On the news page you can see it was released March 13 => http://www.essentialpim.com/news and what the changes are.

Thanks, good to know but I'll wait for the Google Play Store because I have to check for a bug (see "Icons of Android shortcuts change images after update") that is related to update process so I want to use same update method as previous versions.
