The error means connection was aborted. Most likely something in the network configuration is causing that.

Manual syncs *always* work ok, *never* a glitch.

It is only these *unwanted*, *unconfigured*, actually *disabled* automatic syncs which show this error and force me to restart W-Epim. It starts to bother me, as I cannot have W-Epim running on my PC without getting that error sooner or later and having to restart it again - and again - and again ...

... because after each of these errors the *manual* sync fails with 'Connection error' (Verbindungsfehler) until I restart W-Epim.

We've already made some improvements regarding synchronization in the upcoming 7.62 version of EPIM. If all goes well, we plan to release it this week. Please wait till its released and try again. Hopefully you shouldn't experience such error messages anymore.

Installed W-Epim 7.62, A-Epim 5.4.

Still auto-syncing in spite of being disabled (but no errors anymore).

We're unable to reproduce the problem and seems you're the only one having it (no other similar reports). Not sure if we can do something about it as according to our tests and code review no auto-sync should be taking place when the feature is disabled. If it still somehow happens on your side, please choose the longest sync interval in order to minimize its impact.

I always knew that I am special ;-)

Now that it does not genereate errors anymore, I can live with it.

But still, it nags me.
- Who initiates that auto-sync? I assume A-Epim, right?
- Where is that setting stored? Could I send you a file so that you could check if that setting is actually set?

Yes, synchronization always happens only when AEPIM tells it so.
Settings are stored in the Android native database, which is not accessible from outside the app.. I'll talk to our developers, maybe they're able to quickly create some sort of an exporting tool.

No real hurry.

Btw, I tried a reboot. Checked that the option was off before and checked that still was off after - still synced a little later. Strange. I like the stubborness - and, no, I am not anthropomorphizing

I have the same problem. I have checked the settings multiple times, WinEpim is set offline, AndEpim is set to NOT synchronize, but nevertheless synchronisation is taking place.

Normaly I do not make changes in AndEpim, but recently I did update a phonenumber. Later in the evening that number was gone and the sync-time was just a few minutes before. I use one-way sync. so that will be the reason, but it is strange that Epim updates while all settings are set to "manual".

To be sure I deleted all references to Epim in the firewall, after that I denied all access that was reported. Now I have to disable the firewall when I want to synchronize. This way it works a I want.

Now I have time to update WinEpim before any synchronisation takes place.

We think we got the problem fixed for the upcoming 5.4.1 version of the app. Would you like to try the preliminary 5.4.1 version out before it gets released? If yes, just let me know :)
