Assign task/event to contact

Post by henacynflin »

I am not sure if I am grasping this facility correctly. When I assign a task or event to a contact on android Epim I can see that these calendar items show a link to the contact. Also when I look at the contact I can see a list of the calendar items. However, none of these transfer on syncing to the PC version so any data that might usefully have been collected is lost. Surely these relationships should be carried over to the windows versions as "related items" in some way. Perhaps I am missing something but linking is one of the major advantages of epim, it is tantalising to see it on the android platform but then to see that it is not carried through on sync is disappointing.

There's still no assignees for events in Windows EPIM, hence this info is not being transferred. Although, there's assignees in tasks and they are carried over during sync.

Thanks, you are right tasks assignment syncs. I'll make all of my communications (phone etc) as tasks and then I have a useful syncing strategy. Great news. The only problem I'll have is a persistent error with outlook tasks sync

What does the error message say? Could you please post a screenshot of it here?

Is there any intent to transfer assignees for events to the Windows EPIM in a future release?

I think this should be under 'priority plans'!

Maybe I see this too simple, but one can connect events to contacts in AEPIM, as well as in WinEPIM. But one cannot sync it..
This seems to create a descrepancy between the two versions.
