Note Sync Android 5.7.4 / Windows 9.1.1

Post by dream_weaver »

After inadvertently deleting a note on my android, I discovered it when I opened the desktop version.
As a new user (7/10/2020), I poked around and found I could set notes to a read-only status.

I restored the note from another copy I have and set it to read-only. After the sync with the android, I was able to edit the note and on the next sync, the note had been modified on the desktop version.

Hmm.

I've also notice that a 'hyperlinked note' made in windows did not hold its formatting when I tried to add lines after the hyperlink. It became like 'hyperlinked note'. The link was correct, but lost the desired form.

I did not find anything prior searching on "note, read only" or "notes, read only".

I am hoping to migrate away from Franklin Planner (Version 7). EssentialPIM Pro has the potential to serve in that capacity.

The read-only status is only available in the Win version of EPIM so far.

I couldn't reproduce the issue related to hyperlinked notes. Could you please attach a screenshot about how the edited version looked like in AEPIM?

If the only thing sent to the Android is a link, I am unable to add more notation to it without changing the display text to the link.

As it goes, I created the Appointment in Windows.
I synched it to the Android and tried adding a line placing the cursor by the word You
I also added a line placing the cursor after the word 'Oppong'

I'm hoping the attached Powerpoint slides will help clarify.

One more thought, if only the link were present, it would not allow an extra line to be placed after it, as it does, if extra lines exist.

I see what you mean now, thanks for the clarification! This is a bug, will be fixed in the next update of AEPIM.

It would be nice to be able to create and/or edit a link on the Android similar to how the Windows version does so with the window illustrated in the lower right hand corner of the first slide. I like to create links to some of the articles I read, and it is more elegant to look at the hypertext link over the raw url, (which is how I send them to Windows when I encounter them on the android.)
