The text in notes of calendar / contacts are covered by rich text buttons

Post by jens116 »

With the introduction of Rich Text Buttons in notes for calendars and contacts, these buttons cover the written text. In editing mode, the bottom edge of the input field must have a greater gap to virtual keyboard.

+1.

I never took the time to understand why, but found it very annoying that when I tried to type into text I could never see what I was typing. Please reposition the text field upward.

Repositioning the text field so it is visible while typing would be very helpful.

While we're at it, when creating a new appointment, placing the cursor in the title box and opening a keyboard would be nice too.

In the latest version 5.8 of the EPIM app, the problem is only partially solved. On my smartphone, about 50 % of the note text is still covered in the "Calendar" and "Contacts" sections. Only the "Notes" section is fine.

Hi there,
on my Android10 Galaxy Tab S4, text in notes of calendar (didnt test contacts) still is covered by rich text buttons.
I have to scroll upwards to make text input line visible.
Maybe this also is due to the fact, that tabbing on text line, the display keyboard comes up, which somehow may push rich text buttons upwards a bit more, thus hiding text line.
Thought, I want to try, if todays update via PlayStore might have changed something here. But no change visible.
BTW: Where can I read something about detailed fixes, that came with todays update, which of course still is 5.8
Everything I mention comes out of my experience. I'm not an expert. Feel free to try anything I suggest ... but always at your own risk.

Please attach screenshots from your devices, will check them out.
Today's update is still 5.8, although with some minor system error fixes.

Ok, attached some screenshots.
The first one shows situation after starting edit.
The second one situation after tabbing into text line (which hasn't changed during the last months on my S4)Image[/img]
The third one situation after scrolling upwards.

As to small updates with minor fixes:
What do you think of the idea, to describe somewhere what fixes have been done. This would avoid users from testing things, that have NOT been fixed. Or making users testing certain things on their configuration, to tell you, whether fixes bring the wanted result.

Still not clear, I'd ask you to please record a small video demonstrating the issue. Also, will it be different if you use the portrait orientation instead?

I add a video, done in portrait orientation. It's almost the same there. The only difference is, that keyboard doesn't come up that far, so that you can see top part of cursor flashing. Turning round tablet would bring up keyboard even more.

.... well, I just wanted to add video of 3 MB, but it tells me, file too big. What can I do?

I've increased maximum allowed file size to 10 MB, please try again.
