EPIM 9.4 defects with creating/editing styles

Post by DG »

Styles in v9.4 pro portable are not working. I have a video, but it is too large to attach. This is the scenario.
  • Create a new note and enter three words on separate lines: Title Heading Body
  • Double click on Title, select styles and <New style...
  • Set the font to Calibri, Bold, 16 pt and save
  • Double click on Heading, select styles and <New style...
  • Set the font to Calibri, Bold, 14 pt and save
  • Double click on Body, select styles and <New style...
  • Set the font to Calibri, Regular, 12pt and save
At this point, I expect the three items I selected to have the styles applied as I created them. However, only the last content, "body", has a style applied. EPIM has removed the style from both Title and Heading.
  • Double click on Title in the note and click in the Styles box.
  • Note in the styles dropdown that the settings for the last style created, "body", have been applied to both Title and Heading.
  • Select the Title style to apply it to the Title. The text now goes from Calibri, 16pt bold to 12pt regular
  • Double click on Title in the note to select it, then go to the styles box and <Edit style...>
  • Set the Title style back to Calibri 16pt bold
  • Upon saving the style, the Heading and Body text in the note become bold and the Title style is applied to the string, "body"
The inconsistencies continue as you try to correct the styles. At some point, the new styles are lost altogether.

DG

Please remove all the existing styles and try again. If still same issues, please make a video and upload it to some online service like Google Drive. Thank you!

An alternative to your suggestion fixed the problem.

I removed the existing styles in my database (fortunately I had only four) and created the new styles as described above, and the problem persisted.

I then opened a new database, created a note, entered some text and created new styles as described above. These worked as expected.

I reopened my database and it contained the styles from the new database I had just created. Any changes I made to styles after this worked as expected.

Good to hear and thanks for the update. Will nevertheless check what might be causing such inconsistencies..
