You should have created a new DB in EPIM 9.10.8, then sync your current local DB into the newly created one, then connect the newly created (now with all your data) to Dropbox. Only then it's going to work.

I followed your instructions. So far synchronisation seems to work. I'll let you know how things turn out over a longer periode.

I'm sorry to say that the error has returned. I placed a password on the database. It did the encryption. I selected "Save to Dropbox" and the same error appears.

We're unable to reproduce this. Please describe in as much details as possible your last actions with the DB and EPIM Synchronizer.

I've got Essntial PIM but no database open. Select the menu <File - New - EPIM database file>. A new database is created, I ignore the <Add new email account> message (select <No>). Close Essntial PIM and save the changes (change the db-name from temp.xxxxx to Personal.epim).
I start the EPIM synchronizer and synchronize the original local database to the newly created local database (one way, either from right to left of left to right, tried both). Opened the new database, synchronised to dropbox. Placed a password on the database, which encrypted the database. A qouple of hours later I downloaded my emails, answerd them deleted old emails uploaded the responses and selected <Save to Dropbox>. This resulted in the well known error message.

Thank you, you did everything right. Please attach the log file yet again after you get the error when working with the newly created DB.

Thanks, so the error message in the log file says:
"Cannot open file "C:\Users\Tjeerd\AppData\Roaming\EssentialPIM Pro\Personal.epim". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"
Which means there's another copy of EPIM running. Try to reboot your PC and try again.

Since I started using EssentialPIM, I've got the option "Allow only 1 copy of EssentialPIM at a time" activated. I checked anyway and another copy of EPIM is not running. I stopped EPIM, checked again and retried without succes. This time it gives a buffer error.
(see attached log) :(

Fixed in the 10.0 version. You may check the new version out earlier before the final release by visiting this thread: viewtopic.php?t=36506

I've installed EPIM 10.0 but the synchronisation with Dropbox still doesn't work. Error message reads:
We could not upload database. Please check your internet connection and restart EssentialPIM.
Meanwhile, the database file will be stored locally.

Attached the logs.

When exactly does the problem occur now? You might also want to try the today's 10.0.1 release, there were some adjustments made concerning the Dropbox feature.
