Recurring task end notice

Post by Steve Shank »

I've had recurring tasks or appointments fall out and I don't notice they are gone. Some tasks or events recur for a long time, maybe eternally. For example, I have a task to change my furnace filters every 4 months. It would be very helpful if the last one in the series showed a red flag or something to alert me that I need to extend the end date and not check after 6 months and find the recurring task just stopped.

There's a special icon that signals it was the latest item in the series. Please see the attached screenshot.

OK. I get it now. Didn't pay attention before. I suspect this will be enough for me, because I'll watch for it, but don't think it is particularly self-explanatory. A red flag would be better in my opinion.

A red flag is going to have a different meaning in EPIM 11.2 :)

How about a stop sign? Or a cemetery headstone? Or and END sign as in End of the road? Or The End as at the end of a movie? There are lots of symbols which clearly indicate the end of a cycle. - Perhaps a mushroom cloud?

I vote for the headstone. That would be cool.

And a wonderful usage it is. Great Idea. I've actually had an email folder called followup which I need to check. Getting these setup quickly as tasks is great.
