assignees for tasks

Post by kdgdr »

Hi,

Currently AEPIM has assignees for appointments and tasks. WEPIM has assignees only for appointments.
Please implement assignees for tasks in WEPIM as well so task-assignee gets synced over wifi between WEPIM/AEPIM.

Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.

WinEPIM has assignees for tasks not for events or appointments. Adding the assignees feature to events is in the plans. Thanks!

I encourage you to expedite adding assignees not only to calendar events, but also to emails, and, perhaps, notes. Using the "assignees" function would make it very easy to link any contact to an a task, calendar event, or email that pertained to the contact even though the contact may not be involved in the communication chain.
Thank You.

Why not use "related items" for linking between different types of data?

Good question - You are right. Using "related items" to link contacts to an existing a task if I counted correctly is 8 mouse clicks. Using "assignees" is 7 mouse clicks. I thought there was a bigger difference than that. So, is there a faster way to link items to contacts?
THANKS.

Use the "@" symbol and type in the contact name.

IMHO that is not a good workflow, because then in AEPIM:
- it is not visible if a Contact Name (in for example a Task subject) is a link or not. Contact added as assignee is visible as such in AEPIM as well.
- if a recurring task that has a contact name "linked to it" with @ in the subject or notes is completed, the newly created task no longer has the link in WEPIM after syncing over Wifi
My setup:
WEPIM ProPort. 11.6.5 on Windows 10 <2-way sync over Wifi> AEPIM 6.0.13 on Samsung A52s 5G (Android 12 - One UI 4.1)
