Fehermeldung bei Verbindung zum E-Mailserver

ich kann keine E-Mails mehr versenden oder empfangen. Ich bekomme den Fehler "no internet connection".
Ich vermute, das der Fehler beim Server liegt. Daher meine Frage, unter welchen Bedingungen diese Fehlermeldung ausgegeben wird?

The message indicates that there's no internet connection. If that's not the case, you can click on the "Stop All" button (Alle beenden) and then on the "Send & Receive" button on the toolbar to initiate the receiving process again.

An der Internetverbindung liegt es nicht. Der Fehler muss an dem Server oder auf dem Weg dorthin liegen.
Ich habe heute einen Testaccount angelegt, der funktioniert einwandfrei.
Was bedeutet "Stream n" (n = 0 - 3)?
Ich vermute der Fehler liegt entweder im DNS oder bei der Serverkonfiguration. Leider erfolgt das Management sehr unprofesionell.
