Solved: There was an error during execution / access violation

Hi there,

when clicking on PLUS in upper left corner of mail module, to create a new mail, the error occurs every time.
What could I possibly do?

If possible, please forward us the extended error log when it appears by clicking on the "Send" button.

Is there any suggestion, of how to avoid the problem? Its very disturbing not to be able to write mails and to have to look for a mail that reached me some time ago, from that person, to be able to create a new mail, by using the old mail.

You can check if the issue is database-dependent, for instance, by creating a new test database and clicking the button.

Will do, as soon as I detect the exact steps to repro the problem.
Meanwhile it sometimes works to create a new mail, but very often it doesn't. So its not clear right now what leads to it.

I went on to try to see a reason and found ...
The error always comes up, when I want to create a new mail, having open the All-In-Box (there are 4 mail accounts). Then access violation is shown as soon as I create a new mail.
Being in any single in-box, the error will not show up.
Can anybody confirm this?

I also use 4 Accounts at the moment, 2x POP, 1x IMAP, 1x Exchange. If All-In-Box is selected, I can create and send a new mail without error, regardless which account I use for sending.

Unfortunately I can't confirm the error so far

In earlier versions I didnot have that problem either with all my imap accounts
How can I set what account will be used? In my case I click on the plus sign in upper left corner to create a mail and error will instantly be shown, if all in box had been selected before. At that time no account had been chosen; how do you choose one (just in case this has something to do with my issue.
If I had selected any other folder but all in box, no problem will be there.

Yes, I use 11.8.3. First I updated from 11.8.2 with the integrated update function. Afer experiencing sync errors I downloaded 11.8.3 from the web - it was told this is a new build - and installed it over.

You are right, the option to choose the account for sending the mail is available in the "New Mail Windows" - so if it crashes directly by clicking plus then you will not see it.

Yes it crashes directly by clicking plus ...
But only if all-in-box was selected before (on my side)

poet-man, have you tried changing the default mail account in Tools->Account Settings? It might solve the problem.

Yes, you're right. I changed default account and (so far) the problem had gone.
After that I changed default again, to the origninal default, and still the problem stayed away.
Should anything change, as to this situation, I will report again.
