What does a little clock in the email folder icon mean?

What does a little clock in the email folder icon mean?
I've made some subfolders under archive and have little clocks in the folder icon.
the 2022 folder does not allow me to not sync. No sync options exist for that or the main archive folder. The archive has my auto archive of 2024.

That icon represents archive folders.

I never would have guessed that. Thanks. I was assuming the clock meant it was still syncing, but it never seemed to get done.
