Add a new Appointment or Task from a Contact record
Hi:
I'd like to be able to right-click on a Contact record, and add an Appointment, or Task, and have the Contact automatically entered as a Related Item.
Currently, I have to add a Contact reference to an Appointment, or Task, manually. It would be so much better if creating the Appointment/Task AND assigning a Contact to it could be done in one step!
Thanks for your consideration.

I second this. It is crucial for adding phone calls, etc. that are logged in Tasks.

Right click on a contact and choose "Convert to".

Re: Add a new Appointment or Task from a Contact record
It's easy to create a new appointment or task from a contact record, but, apparently, this only works from the list of contacts.
Can this be done from within the contact record? For example, if I'm in the contact record entering notes and I remember that I need to contact the person in 1 week, right now it seems like I have to go to the contact record in the list/table of contacts to "convert to task" etc.
I want to do it from the actual contact record.
Can this be done? If not, I'd like to submit that as a feature request.

Does the Related Items tab and then Add New do what you want?

Re: Add a new Appointment or Task from a Contact record
Thanks, Steve, but I don't think so. I tested it and it appears to me that you can only add an existing item (calendar event, task, note, etc.) to the contact. It does not appear that you can create a new appt or task.

Currently, there is no way to do that, unfortunately. However, it seems like a good feature request to have the ability to create new items from the Related Items tab. We will consider implementing this in a future update. Thank you for the suggestion!

Re: Add a new Appointment or Task from a Contact record
When creating an event from the contacts screen, only the name of the contact appears. Contact information, i.e. address and phone number should also appear in the Add Description section and the address of the contact in the Location field on the left.
When I worked with ACT! back in 2000, it had these features. Even though that was a 'contact manager' application meant for sales people, I used it a lot when I worked in IT to keep track of the company clients I had contact with.
Another thing that would be helpful is being able to set certain information in specific fields as a default, such as if you're setting up a doctor appointment, the Event Name could be 'Doctor Appointment' and in the add description, add the name, address and phone number of the doctor. Either way would be a lot more helpful and streamline the process of creating an event, or task.

Could you please provide a list of steps so we can better understand how you create an event from the contacts screen? When creating an event from the contacts screen, only the name of the contact appears. Please check if using the templates feature could be a solution to this.Another thing that would be helpful is being able to set certain information in specific fields as a default, such as if you're setting up a doctor appointment, the Event Name could be 'Doctor Appointment' and in the add description, add the name, address and phone number of the doctor.
