New names in CONTACTS

Bonjour,

During all my tests to demonstrate my previous question, I have modified some fields for try in EPIM / CONTACTS, simply by clicking on a contact, editing the field and changing its name.

Now this fields are saved “somewhere” (in autosave and backup ?), and the new names come back each time I change language. In original French interface, in English, Italiano, Dutch and so … , it’s the same come back of the changed fields.

The advantage of a modification in the French.lng interface (saved in new name and the line “LanguageName=Français modifié”) is the possibility to return in original French interface.

How can I find again the original fields ? 1) by reseizing all the old names ? 2) by desinstall and re-install the EPIM software ?

if you want to be sure, re-install Epim

As you say, I desinstall EPIM 2.7 >>> cleaning register by RegSeeker >>> stop and start computer >>> re-install 2.7 >>> surprise : EPIM start on the old DataBase (DB) called 230107.epim >>> the problem is the same, no change in the fields on CONTACTS. WHY ?

I look for the operations : new desinstall >>> show details >>> EPIM erase many files (exe, chm, lng, txt, wav, …).
“C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\ …” is erased but not “C:\Documents & Settings\username\EssentialPIM\epim.ini” >>> so the first re-install was started on DB 230107.epim.

I efface manually “C:\ Documents & Settings \username\EssentialPIM” >>> second re-install >>> EPIM start on DB Test.epim >>> all my tests are OK : I can change languages and the fields in CONTACTS are ok.
When I open the old DB 230107.epim, the problem come back.

So the problem is resolved if I start on a new DB, but I want to keep all my contacts in DB 230107.epim.

In fact, I will keep the old DB 230107.epim, but for my knowledge : why “C:\Documents & Settings\username\EssentialPIM” isn’t erased ?
