Auto Sync Option

Post by std »

Hi,

I've been trying EssentialPIM for a few weeks now and was totally convinced by it so I bought the Licence today. As I am an iPhone user, I was looking for a simple solution to sync ePIM and the iPhone calender. It seems that after looking in the wrong direction for some time (Outlook/iTunes), I've found something I'm happy with: Google Calender Sync. The Google Calender integrates very easily into the iPhone Calender via CalDAV. As I now can sync the ePIM calender to Google Calender, everthing appears magically on the iPhone after a few seconds. That's great news for me! However, I'd like to make a suggestion to make life even easier, because I like to have ePIM constantly running and sometimes after changing or adding things I just forget to press "File" > "Synchronizaton" > "Google Calender":

Why not make an "Auto-Sync" option available that syncs automatically after a certain adjustable amount of time?

Thanks for the great work!

Suggestion noted, thank you!
Unfortunately, auto sync is not as simple as it may seem, but we consider it.

And what about 1-click sync or a definable keyboard shortcut?

Greetings!

Yes, will think about it. Still this is not a simple shortcut, as we need to lock database for synchronization. So when you are editing Task, this shortcut should not work.

I support this option! It is one of those features that should be there but isn't.

The only easy temporary workaround that i suggest is to have a large sync "button" floating on the desktop (regardless if epim is in front/on top or not). Pretty simple!
