Direct Synch?

Hi. Quite a newbie and therefore maybe a 'stupid' question but I couldn't find an answer so far.
Is EPIM for Android synching directly with my desktop EPIM or is the data going via some clouds or via Google?
I'm not very enthusiastic about clouds and Google - you may call me old-fashioned

Yes, it is a direct sync over Wi Fi, without any cloud in between.
