Two Operation questions

Post by kb5cth »

I just bit the bullet and upgraded to V1.8.6 on my Droid Razr. I'm very pleased with how it operates...enough so that I deleted ACalendar. Thanks for a fine program.

I'm still relatively new to this version though and am wondering how to :

a) delete categories from the calendar. I had 8 or 9 categories that I typically use. When I installed this program, that number expanded to more than 15. How do I delete those new categories?

b)use Passwords. I entered a master password, and upon finishing it, it asked for the master again. I entered it and it simply kept asking for the password. Every time I enter the password, the "enter" dialog reappears. I am not entering the wrong password; when I enter something wrong, it tells me it's wrong and asks my security question. Is this because I haven't stored any passwords in there yet, or is this a bug?

a. You should either edit an appointment or create a new one. In the Edit appointment window click on the Category field and scroll down the list until you reach the Manage categories option. Click on it and the list of available categories will be shown. Long click on any of the categories and there'll be two options shown: Edit category and Delete category.
b. Seems like a bug although we weren't able to reproduce it.

Admin,

Thanks for the help on the categories. I always forget to try "long press" on things to see if there's another function available.

As far as the Password issue, after repeated attempts, it WILL let me in...but only after several tries. I changed the password in the hopes that something about the complexity of the original was an issue, but no dice; it still acts weird with the newer/shorter password. I'll try to capture a video of it so you can see what's happening. Very briefly, a screen with the EPIM logo appears before it asks for the password again. It's so brief that I can't see if it's asking or telling anything.

Bill, thanks for the additional info. If you try to change timing for the "workspace lock timeout" option, will it make any difference?

Max,

No luck. I tried setting it to 5 minutes, and it worked twice, but then acted strange again. It seems very intermittent. I still owe you a video, but probably won't get the time until this weekend. Thanks for thinking of me! :?
