Folders Hierarchy improvements
Folders exist in EPIM to store eMails and classify them. Nice. However, they have a few limitations that make their use very difficult, if not dangerous.
Reorganizing, exporting and importing are also a pain.
1) Folders are bound to an eMail Account
- It is not possible to move a folder from one account to another. That means it is not possible to cancel an account without losing the folders attached to it
Solutions:
- Allow to move a folder hierarchy from one account to another, not only inside one account
- Create a folder hierarchy separate from any account, like "My Folders"
2) Organizing a folder hierarchy
- Each folder must be moved individually
Solution:
- Allow to sort a folder hierarchy, at least alphabetic, and possibly by content most recent
3) Import/Export of folders
- Export / Import of mails works only on .eml, but ignores structure. To export/import a hierarchy one must create by hand the folder hierarchy, then export/import the mail from each folder
Solution:
- When importing/exporting, give option to create the hierarchy (create all subfolders, in EPIM or in file system)
PS: As I am software Engineer, I would be happy to help for dree on these tasks if you are not interested in developing yourself. Please feel free to contact me!

Re: Folders Hierarchy improvements
Thank you, your suggestions are noted. However, just to give you a bit of background: moving folders around in case of IMAP account is a non-trivial task. Moving folders to external mail account is even more difficult task to perform properly and to avoid issues.
Hence current limitations, but we will see what can be improved.

Re: Folders Hierarchy improvements
Hi Maxim... how's this issue? any improvement on crazyforjags's suggestions? I'm particularly interested in the last one, being able to automatically create the hierarchy of folders when importing from eml folders. I have had several clients that had large volume of emails and it's a real pain in the neck to have to create it by hand one by one. I notice you mention the problem with the IMAP accounts... but if the user uses POP3 accounts -which is most my cases-, then there shouldn't be any problem, should it?

Re: Folders Hierarchy improvements
I also would like to know if it's possible to import all my e-mails (via EML files) and still keep my folder structure. I have hundreds of folders … I can not manually create those folders and manually import the e-mails in the correct folder.

Hello,
there is no feature that allows to import Email altogether with Folder structure.
