I like the simple and easy to use interface. I just started to use the 3.51 portable free version and it works very nice. It has a slick, simple design that is easy to learn. I like the note section. I work for a school district and the district uses Novel for our email and calendar systems. The email works fine but I never cared for nor use the calendar system. It always seemed cumbersome and hard to get to over the web when I am at home or away. This portable version is perfect for me to carry between home and work. Someday I would like to upgrade to the pro version but that will have to wait on finances.

First impressions:

I like the:

1. Extensive features that are very easy to use. I went through the Help section in a few minutes and got a good overview. I started using EPIM and liked its interface -- very well designed. Lots of good design is needed to produce a powerful program that does not come out as a disorganized jumble -- a common software defect.

2. Ability to easily add links to files and links to e-mails.

3. EPIM Today screen. Everything is right there.

I am very pleased.

For syncing with my Windows Mobile phone including contact photos... column sorting allowed me to quickly find contact duplicates update records and re-sync ... this alone justified the price!

The simple, clean interface makes using the system a joy... for such a capable system this is a real feat!

Holding all the data in a single file makes backup and computer transfers oh sooooo simple... not to mention a USB stick version using the same single file copied over... and you can even sync this!

For me the best feature is being able to have a specialised collection of contacts/emails e.g. all those who belong to a particular club, Christmas card list. etc
Plus the ability to have a hierarchy of folders, e.g. all club members with below those with a specialised interest

The second most useful feature is being able to send newsletters, i.e. personalised emails. Excellent for avoiding corporate spam blockers too

You folks provide the very best support for this type of software. You also listen to your users and do everything you can to resolve their problems. Plus, the software is a pleasure to use. It keeps me organized far better than anything else I have tried and I have tried 10-15 different packages, most of them were much more costly than EPIM.

Great support, great product, great price. What else would anyone need?

I would recommend that you spiffy up the appearance of the software in its ads and website. When I first stumbled onto EPIM, I did not have a feeling that it would be as good as it was. The website and ads seemed to lack a professional look and feel. Your compeititors in other cases have this "more professional look" but do not have the software. The software does not need to change its look, only the presentation of the sofware on your site.

Many people are looking for better PIM software so you must grab them when they visit your site. These lookers are typically professionals and they expect a certain look and feel.

I would also recommend that you add a Project section. Not a full blown project manager (most of us do not need/or want that) but a separate section that helps us track projects. The Notes section is to weak and I have to use other software to track project status.

Keep up the good work.

Best combination I've seen for exactly the information I want to manage.

Up until the current version (4.2) it was very fast to start up. Easy to use. Easy to back up. I love the flexibility of the contacts database.

As a solo-preneur I don't need multi-user capability, so the Free version does the trick. Have recommended Essential PIM to many, many people.

I like it because it's license free. I can view all my calendar activities on my own laptop. Most of all it's cool

This is one of the most useful software application I use everyday. It has the speed, few commands to remember and the quick search facilities. You see the contents as you type is its strong selling point to me. I mostly use the TO DO Where I put my ideas, schedules, contacts, reminder and can't live without this application. It also got a free and portable version although I have never used the portable version yet.

Because I have been using it for years and nothing comes close.
Because it gives an almost "physical" view of your agenda. You can move, extend, relocate your tasks and appointments as easy as you would do with "post-it" on a blackboard.
Because I have never lost my data.
Because it is portable.
Because the support is responsive.
Because users count.
Because it is continuously improving
Because the user interface is sexy
Because if something I need is still not in, I am sure it will be in soon!

What I like about EPIM:
1. great technical support
2. Password Storage module
3. Email client module with customizable message rules (filtering)
4. Notes module with inter module linking.

To summarize: great product.

1. great support. Almost every topic is getting a reply within a short time!
2. possibility to ask for new features in the software
3. simple to use. It's explaining itself more or less by itself
4. the modules. even you're not using everyone it's possible to hide them

Why do you like EssentialPIM?

When I started with EssentialPIM, some years ago, I threw away my Outlook Express and my Microsoft Outlook because EssentialPIM can do more that Microsoft and others software. I was looking for an Integrated agenda and finally I found EssentialPIMpro.

I just migrated from Outlook to EPIM, because Outlook cannot be reinstalled on my computer due to a very persistive 1935 error (Yes, legal copy!).
1) FUNCTIONALITY: To my surprise, EPIM works even better than Outlook for me, for it offers some functionality, that outlook doesn't offer. For instance: The yearview in calender. That, amongst others, is already a reason NOT to turn back to outlook, even if it would reinstall.
2) PORTABILITY: As EPIM is not as widely used as Outlook, especially not in company/office environments: I really, really like the fact that EPIM offers portability for it's application. That also prevents it for making trouble in my computer, like Outlook did! :)
I begin to appreciate portable software more and more. Since my computer crashed seriously, I'm very much charmed by the idea a combination of Firefox, OpenOffice, EPIM, WinRAR and WinAMP (all have portable versions) on a USB-stick
3) SIMPLICITY & INTUIVITY: I like the simplicity and intuitivity of EPIM: Actually: manuals, help, nor support were needed until now, and already I have the feeling that I can do everything I want with EPIM (like complex queries, reporting, etc). Outlook has a steeper learning curve. Which by the way is completely understandable, as Outlook is, functionalitywise, more 'oversized' than EPIM. I prefer the simplicity of EPIM, though

Still, there is room for improvement. There are still some bugs in EPIM and there are 'Nice to have's' I'm missing in EPIM. But nonetheless EPIM is a great application, which I will continue using as it already gives me more pleasure to work with, than Outlook did (which by the way, is way more expensive too)
With kind regards,
Erik Franciscus van Gelder
