Double and triple repeat entries how to stop

I have been having double and triple repeat entries in my calendar, why is this happening.
I believe when updating , it might be the cause.
This error goes back many years on my entries to my Calendar
HELP!

FWIW, had a lot of problems with duplicate calendar entries while syncing with Google calendar.
One clue was "Duplicate" entries, but with different "Category" listings.
For a while it appeared that Each Sync cycle resulted in duplicates of all calendar items synced!

You can try running the EPim Duplicate Remover to eliminate a huge chunk of them.
